Greetings!

Welcome to "Life on Brant's Ford"! For those who don't know what's this blog is about, it's all about celebrating living as a university student of Wilfred Laurier University situated in scenic Brantford, Ontario, Canada. If there's anything interesting about Brantford anyone wants to share, you can do so on this blog.

The Wilfrid Laurier Brantford campus is a satellite campus based off of the main Laurier University campus located in Waterloo, Ontario. Situated proudly in the downtown core of Brantford, Ontario, the campus was established in the year 1999, with a grand total of 39 students attended the new campus' first year. The campus was centered around the core Contemporary Studies program, which to this day continue to make up a majority of the students attending.

Here we are, 13 years later, utterly flourishing, especially so now with the new Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science in Health Studies and Honours Bachelor Business Technology Management, or "BTM", available to the students. I myself am happily a second year student of the latter.
The campus itself is easily traverse-able by foot; it boasts eight residences, a variety of academic theaters, and a school gym. Notable locales are the Carnegie building, the Student Union and the Research and Academic Centre, a recently opened faculty which cost $36-million to build.

If you are a BTM student, then the SC Johnson Building will be of particular note to you. Most of the professors associated with the course have their offices located there, there are spaces for students to engage in quiet study, and the BTM lounge and the computer lab (only accessible if you are registered as a BTM student with your OneCard) are located there in one convenient spot. It serves as a commitment from the school to the BTM program. More info on the BTM program will be posted up for those curious, so be sure to stick around.

On that note, BTM students, regardless of their year, should check out the BTM Student Association, established just last year with the support of our professors. Events are held by the association to celebrate our BTM-ness.
"The BTM Student Association is an organized student body that allows BTM students to participate in various university affairs."

This blog was created for the purpose of my MB202 - Marketing course, representing a sizable portion of my final grade in that class. In that sense, this very blog itself was brought into creation due to the mechanics of university life. Irony is in terrifying abundance at Laurier Brantford.
